Connecting a document processing AI to an ERP system
Challenge
A mid-sized manufacturer was manually re-entering supplier invoices from PDF format into their ERP. The process was time-consuming and introduced transcription errors. They wanted to explore whether AI could extract and route the data automatically, but had no internal engineering capacity to assess the options.
Solution
An Anchor Review identified two viable options. They chose a fixed integration connecting a document AI API to their ERP's import endpoint. The build took four and a half weeks and included a validation layer that flags low-confidence extractions for manual review rather than processing them automatically.
Outcome
The integration processes around 80% of invoices without staff involvement. Transcription error rate dropped substantially. The client enrolled in Hold-Fast after the build to keep the connection maintained as their ERP version updates over time.

Routing customer queries through an AI triage layer
Challenge
A logistics company received a high volume of inbound customer enquiries across email and a web form. Most enquiries were routine — delivery status, rate requests, area coverage. Staff were spending the majority of their time on repetitive responses rather than handling complex or sensitive cases.
Solution
The Anchor Review identified a triage layer — an AI-assisted classification and response system — as the appropriate integration point. The Fixed Integration built this connection between their email platform and a language model API, with the system drafting responses to routine enquiries and routing complex cases directly to staff.
Outcome
Within the first two months, around 65% of inbound enquiries were being handled by the triage layer without staff intervention. Complex cases continued to reach the team flagged and pre-summarised. Response time on routine enquiries improved significantly.
